The more muscle you have the faster your metabolism will be. So you will be burning more calories even when at rest.
Don't even worry about getting all "bulked up". Unless you are eating 5000 or more calories a day AND working out with crazy heavy weights, that just ain't going to happen. Unless you want to do that. And that is fine.
Now working out with heavy weights is A-OK. Wondering how to build muscle fast ? Lifting heavy weights in a very slow and controlled fashion is one of the best ways to build muscle quickly.
You MUST reach failure at the 10-12 rep range. You cannot do one more rep.
Along with my resistance training I am also using HIIT and some steady state cardio.
High intensity interval training is anaerobic, which means it both releases muscle building hormones and helps to preserve muscle.
Steady state cardio has its place but MAY have a muscle wasting effect. Losing muscle is not what I am after.
So my new regimen of Chalene Extreme along with my P90X workout schedule has been in place for 6 days.
I feel good. My healthy eating plan is on track. Pics tomorrow.
