The Biggest Loser on NBC is a "reality show" where overweight people see who can lose the most weight. I have actually never watched the show. As with 99.9% of shows on television I feel that they are trying to sell you something.
That being said, some of the contestants have seen some success. I am not sure of their long term weight loss success; ie: have they gained the weight back?
Anyway after a few weeks off from any regular workout routine, I have decided to enter a local weight loss challenge contest. I am not overly concerned with weight loss as much as fat loss and just getting fitter. But if I loss a significant amount of fat this should also translate into a lower number on the scale. I did get weighed and measured this morning but by choice did not want to know the numbers. At the end of the 3 months I will certainly post the results.
I also need to get out more and at least be around other people. I have a fairly severe social anxiety disorder so this is a big thing for me. One of the things I am doing is to do the opposite of what I have usually done. Doing group fitness classes certainly fits into this category.
So I will getting back into the P90X workouts and doing workouts at HEAT. Think Beachbody Turbo Jam but better. There are a variety of different classes that I will get to.
Also I have known for a while now that I have a gluten intolerance. So it is time to make the necessary adjustments to my eating and follow a gluten free diet.
Lean proteins, vegetables, some fruits and healthy fats. That's about all that will be making it into the healthy eating plan. I just cannot have grains of any kind.
I'll take some "before pics" later and post them so we have a photo log of the Greatest Loser progress.
